The work of the famous Hungarian street artist TakerOne, who chose Slavutych to create a photorealistic painting. The artist independently chose the location and started the work, which he did in two days. Thus, Fox Semen “settled” in the city. The Fox became famous due to his residence in the territory of Pripyat in the exclusion zone. Fox Semen has long been a local “star” and is quite manual, he is often fed by tourists and publish photos with him. But in Slavutych the fox “behaves” like a wild animal – “hid” among the bushes, where many people usually do not go.

Sculptural composition “Dream”

The work is made of bronze and installed between the Dniprovskiy and Desnyanskiy quarters. The composition has a symbolic meaning for the youngest city in Ukraine – the young generation of the town dreams of a happy future.

Memorial sign “To the participants of the Battle for the Dnieper”

During the Second World War, our city did not exist, but fierce battles were fought in these areas, so in 1993, in Slavutych, a memorial sign “Heroes of the Battle of the Dnieper” was installed at the request of the head of the patriotic club “Red Carnation” K. Titova. . She started her work in the city of Pripyat and continued in Slavutych.

What does this memorial sign say: “Two granite boulders – the left and right banks of the Dnieper.” A broken iron chain is a destroyed pontoon crossing (or wooden bridge). Many Soviet soldiers gave their lives during the forcing of the Dnieper.

Fountain “Brothers”

The location of the sculpture-fountain in the Riga quarter corresponds to the concept of decoration of the city, there is a small area with benches nearby. It was installed in 1989, when the quarter was just being commissioned. The work was made by the Maxla plant of the Latvian Art Foundation, the author is the famous Riga architect Z. Kalinka.

In one of the local history sources, the sculpture is called “Parties of the World”. However, according to the concept of the city, its name is “Brothers”. According to the author’s plan, it consists of conditional figures of brothers sitting at the table. Water should flow from the table – a symbol of strength and life.

Monumental and architectural structure “White Angel”

The monumental and architectural complex “White Angel” made of artificial marble is a business card of the city. It was built not so long ago – in 2012, and the opening took place as part of the celebration of City Day and its 25th anniversary. The monument symbolizes the revival after the Chernobyl disaster.

The height of the pedestal is 15 m, the figure of an angel is 2.5 m.

In his right hand – a laurel wreath, which blesses the townspeople, in his left – a shield with the star of the Virgin, a symbol of her intercession and protection. At the bottom of the complex is a sacred stone that was brought from Jerusalem.

Creative team were working on the creation of the monument: sculptor J. Neumann, architect A. Zayets, artist M. Linnyk, photographer V. Savran.

Panel “Azerbaijan”

Large-scale decorative-structured panel “Azerbaijan” decorates the entrance group of a residential building for small families, made of travertine. The panel itself is made of fireclay and covered with green-blue glaze, which depicts many stylized human figures and faces. The authors of the project are Azerbaijani artists M. Kafarov and Z. Huseynov.

Entrance gate of Yerevan quarter – memorial “TO BUILDERS OF THE QUARTER”

According to the plan of the designers, each republic was to create an authentic entrance gate to its quarter. Armenia is the only one that completed all the planned works in Slavutych and coped with this task.

The authors of the project are sculptor Arsham Shaginyan and architect Stefan Lazaryan.

The gate looks like a real work of art: the entrance eight-meter stele is crowned by a stylized sculpture of an eagle with the image of roses on the wings – a characteristic symbol of ancient Armenia.

The main part of the memorial is occupied by a wall decorated with fountains – springs in the form of seven different types of roses, which symbolize the seven muses and the guarantee of inexhaustible strength and inspiration.

The through-cut hole in the form of a Christian cross – a symbol of “eternity, faith, hope and love” and a carved bas-relief panel on an animalistic theme – the motif of “eternity, beauty of nature and eternal life” also attract attention.

In addition, the names of the architects and builders of the quarter are engraved on the wall in Ukrainian and Armenian with the words of Taras Shevchenko, which call for love between fraternal peoples.

Memorial “Heroes of Chernobyl”

In memory of the heroes of Chernobyl in 1988 – on the occasion of the first day of the city – a stone sign was installed with the inscription “Low bow and eternal memory.” Later, a memorial sign was unveiled, at the foot of which flowers are constantly laid. The authors of the project were A. Gotalsky, L. Aptukova and V. Belyk.

The composition consists of a pylon with a bell and two plates on which were placed 30 photos of Chernobyl workers and firefighters who in the first hours of the accident received a critical dose of radiation.

30 rose bushes called “Slavutych” have been planted near the monument. This completely new variety was created for the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy by the French company Meilland.

Sculptural composition “Family”

The symbol of Slavutych’s family coziness is the sculptural composition “Family”.

According to the concept of the city, the sculpture was to be located on the territory of the Desnyanskiy quarter near the kindergarten.

Today, the composition is located in the city park, opposite the store “Ainur”, where at one time planned to arrange a registry office.

Barbecues in Yerevan
