]]> The central axis of the boulevard stretches a decorative pool, which symbolizes the St. Petersburg canals, along with residential buildings and social facilities. The boulevard ends with a sports and recreation complex with a sculptural group “Bogatyr” on the topic of medieval myths of Kievan Rus.

Belonging to the classic St. Petersburg is emphasized by many thematic wrought iron elements on brackets and cast iron three-horned lanterns.

]]> The connecting link of the city is the city center, designed by KyivZNDIEP specialists. The center was planned as a pedestrian system about a kilometer long and 200-300 meters wide. The buildings have service driveways which are functionally necessary, but there are no passages through the center. The whole space is dedicated to pedestrians. All buildings are made in the same style and lined with white natural Belogorsk stone.

Densely organized, compact buildings have horizontal divisionswhich are underlined by tiles in an ochre colour. We should pay attention to the many arches above the slots – an element that is repeatedly repeated in the architecture of Slavutych in various variations and contexts. Many buildings use a courtyard system. The interiors of all buildings are decorated with stained glass.

]]> The monumental and architectural complex “White Angel” made of artificial marble is a business card of the city. It was built not so long ago – in 2012, and the opening took place as part of the celebration of City Day and its 25th anniversary. The monument symbolizes the revival after the Chernobyl disaster.

The height of the pedestal is 15 m, the figure of an angel is 2.5 m.

In his right hand – a laurel wreath, which blesses the townspeople, in his left – a shield with the star of the Virgin, a symbol of her intercession and protection. At the bottom of the complex is a sacred stone that was brought from Jerusalem.

Creative team were working on the creation of the monument: sculptor J. Neumann, architect A. Zayets, artist M. Linnyk, photographer V. Savran.

]]> According to the plan of the designers, each republic was to create an authentic entrance gate to its quarter.  Armenia is the only one that completed all the planned works in Slavutych and coped with this task.

The authors of the project are sculptor Arsham Shaginyan and architect Stefan Lazaryan.

The gate looks like a real work of art: the entrance eight-meter stele is crowned by a stylized sculpture of an eagle with the image of roses on the wings – a characteristic symbol of ancient Armenia.

The main part of the memorial is occupied by a wall decorated with fountains – springs in the form of seven different types of roses, which symbolize the seven muses and the guarantee of inexhaustible strength and inspiration.

The through-cut hole in the form of a Christian cross – a symbol of “eternity, faith, hope and love” and a carved bas-relief panel on an animalistic theme – the motif of “eternity, beauty of nature and eternal life” also attract attention.

In addition, the names of the architects and builders of the quarter are engraved on the wall in Ukrainian and Armenian with the words of Taras Shevchenko, which call for love between fraternal peoples.
